Relative Detectability:
Fairly easy to detect by sight, but difficult to confirm
breeding because of difficult access to nesting
habitats.
Challenge:
Survey the entire Cascade crest for this species,
and determine if breeding ever occurs among individuals reported from Steens Mountain.
